In November 2005 JSC North-West Telecom started providing services through branches of FGUP Post of Russia of the Northwestern Federal District. The respective Agreement of Cooperation has been signed by: V.A. Akulich, Chief executive officer of JSC North-West Telecom and D.D. Chuyko, First Deputy General Manager of FGUP Post of Russia.
Post of Russia and North-West Telecom have a serious attitude towards their future cooperation, as it is for the first time that a centralized agreement has been signed that will cover the entire Northwestern Federal District of the RF and that has introduced unified rates for Post's services for telecommunications in this territory. Besides, the agreement of services provision with OJSC North-West Telecom concerns almost 100% of the population of the Northwestern Federal District (about 13.7 million of residents of cities, towns and areas in the Northwestern Federal District, which makes 10% of the population of the RF).
Under the agreement, post-offices in the Northwestern Federal District will accept from individuals advance payments and payments under bills for communication services provided by JSC North-West Telecom in the framework of the current licenses. Besides, Post of Russia accepts from clients and delivers to addressees telegrams within the established cable passage time in compliance with the Rules of Telegraph Communication Services Provision now in force.
At the same time, Post of Russia’ branches accept orders for long-distance and international telephone calls (LDITC) in compliance with the Rules of Telephone Communication Services Provision, sell one-time tickets for LDITC to clients and deliver bills for the communication services provided by OJSC North-West Telecom in the framework of the current licenses for individuals and legal entities.
"Cooperation with JSC North-West Telecom makes it possible to offer new quality services to clients Post of Russia clients at post-offices, which, without doubt, makes their visits to post-offices more useful and convenient for the population and, at the same time, improves the profitability of the post-offices themselves", commented D.D. Chuyko.
JSC North-West Telecom is constantly improving the quality of the servicing provided to its subscribers and is expanding the geography of places where subscriber payments are accepted and telecommunication services are rendered – now this can be done at branches of FGUP Post of Russia, too.
