A working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Jean-Marie Dauger, Executive Vice President of Gaz de France, was held today at Gazprom’s Headquarters.
The parties discussed prospects of cooperation between the 2 companies in the gas business and confirmed mutual interest in concluding long-term contracts. At the same time, the parties underscored the importance of enhancing the efficiency of the existing inter-corporate mechanisms to promote dialogue on power saving, improved staff skills and sci-tech cooperation matters.

Successful and mutually advantageous cooperation between Russia and France in the natural gas sector started almost 30 years ago. In 2003, France received 11.2 bcm of gas and 5.9 bcm were supplied, as of 1 June 2004.
In the course of the talks on long-term strategic partnership, Gazprom and Gaz de France signed on 28 June 2003 a Memorandum to promote cooperation between the parties.
