Alexey Miller and Alexander Karlin discuss gasification plans for Altai Krai

The Barnaul city hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Alexander Karlin, Governor of the Altai Krai.

The parties addressed implementation of the Cooperation Agreement signed by Gazprom and the Krai Administration.

Special attention was paid to the gasification and gas supply to the region with due consideration for the Company's plans concerning the Altai gas pipeline construction.

It was noted that Gazprom was going to finalize the construction of inter-settlement gas pipelines to the Larichikha village (Talmenka District), the Borzovaya Zaimka settlement, Central district of Barnaul before the year end. The decision was taken to launch in 2011 the construction of a gas lateral and a gas distribution station in the Nizhnaya Kayancha village, Altai District.

Gazprom will consider possible construction of an inter-settlement gas pipeline from the Berezovka village (Krasnogorsk District) to Biysk in order to supply natural gas to 15 population centers of the Krasnogorsk and Biysk Districts as well as a gas lateral and a gas distribution station in the Rebrikha village, Rebrikha District.

Background

Gazprom and the Altai Krai Administration signed the Cooperation Agreement in 2004 and extended it in 2009. The Gasification Accord was inked in 2004.

Natural gas penetration in the Altai Krai is at 8 per cent including 12.1 per cent in cities and towns and 3.1 per cent in the rural area. The respective gasification levels throughout Russia average 63.2, 67.5, and 45.5 per cent accordingly.

From 2005 through 2009 Gazprom allocated RUB 1.8 billion for the Altai Krai gasification. The funds were used to construct 21 inter-settlement gas pipelines with the total length of 304.2 kilometers.

In 2011 Gazprom is planning to allocate RUB 21 million to complete the construction of two inter-settlement gas pipelines.
