As of the year 2000, “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” INC is implementing a “Development Program for Energy Consumption and Energy Saving” targeted at reducing a utilities cost portion in the commodity output cost. In line with the Program, the Company introduced 231 innovations within the period of 2000-2003. According to the Company's Utilities Department, that helped to save about 50,000 tons of reference fuel, 1,047,800 Gcal of heat energy and 50,680,000 kWh of electrical power. The economic effect amounted to over RUR 330 MM. Furthermore, within 3 months of the year 2004 the Company saved 6570 tons of reference fuel, 96,700 Gcal of heat energy and 6,700,000 kWh of electrical power.

Within the first current quarter, savings in terms of currency amounted to RUR 46 MM.
