M. M. Semchenko, Chief Accountant of OJSC North-West Telecom, was awarded a public honorary prize titled «Russia’s Best Accountant » for her active input to organization and maintaining of accounting in line with the main provisions of the State program of national economy development and requirements of international accounting standards. The award ceremony was held within the framework of the Fifth International Forum of Accountants and Auditors held in the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow on May 20-21.

The Forum was attended by representatives of the Executive Officer of the President of the Russian Federation, RF Council of Federation, State Duma, and International Union of Economists.  

The competition panel mention that the «Russia’s Best Accountant » prize is awarded to representatives of companies laying the basis for higher efficiency of Russian business and its positive advance.  

At the annual competition «Stock Market Elite 2003 » sponsored by the National Association of Stock Market Traders (NAUFOR), E. I. Tomilina, IR & PR Director of OJSC North-West Telecom, was named the best analyst of the North-Western Region. She became the winner in this nomination of the national competition held in Moscow on May 19, 2004.

The competition panel consisted of important figures of Russian financial market whose professional career is inseparable from the national securities market and greatly determines the vector of its development. Among them were representatives of federal authorities such as V. S. Pleskachevsky, Chairman, Property Committee of the RF State Duma; representatives of public associations such as Y. I. Kormosh, Executive Vice-President, Association of Russian Banks, A. V. Ikonnikov, Executive Director, Association for Investors’ Rights Protection, A. V. Makeev, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Association of Promissory Notes Market Traders, and A. Y. Kolyagin, Executive Director, Guild of Investment Finance Analysts, as well as representatives of the country’s largest trading sites.
