The meeting devoted to transportation issues in the region took place on Monday in Saint-Petersburg in the office of plenipotentiary of the RF President Mr. Ilya Klebanov.
The president of Transneft, Dr Simon Vainshtock, Chief of Federal Agency for Sea and River Transport Mr. Vyacheslav Ruksha, representatives of the RF Ministry of Transport and Rector of Saint-Petersburg University of Mining Mr. Vladimir Litvinenko took part in the meeting.
“We have discussed most of the problems, ripened in the North-West region. We have analyzed the development of transport, the problems stored up in civil shipbuilding. New tankers and container ships, oil and gas pipelines were also discussed Dr. Vainshtock Transneft’s president had reported at the end of the meeting to the press. He also said that meantime joint work group for development of the North-West transportation corridor was established and will gather representatives of plenipotentiary office, Ttransneft and Mintrans.  The working group will be headed by the Mr. Vladimir Litvinenko, Rector of Saint-Petersburg University of Mining.  Group’s tasks were articulated as introduction of common approaches to transportation module.
