Primorsk Shipping Corporation fully meets the highest requirements on ecology to oil carriers made by Sakhalin Energy extracting oil at the Sea of Okhotsk shelf and supplying world market with hydrocarbon fuel. Representatives of Sakhalin Administration who took part in the launch ceremony of PRISCO tanker “Sakhalin Island” of 108,000 tons dwt. at Brodosplit Shipyard in Croatia reported at the press conference in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk that PRISCO tankers are the most ecologically safe for Sakhalin. During transportation of Island oil PRISCO tankers have never been pollution sources of Sakhalin water areas. Now PRISCO has three tankers with tonnage 105,000 – 108,000 tons: “Primorye”, “Sakhalin Island” and “Governor Farkhutdinov”. They have double hulls, double bottom, up-to-date navigation equipment and sea pollution prevention systems. PRISCO is ordering three more such vessels in Republic of Korea. They will be built specially for transportation of Sakhalin shelf oil.
