Expanded session of the Board of the Ministry for industry, transport and communication of the Stavropol Territory was held in the city Mineralnie Vodi. Heads of regional administrations and largest companies took part in the session.

V. F. Kamysovsky, Deputy minister for industry, transport and communications of the Stavropol Territory summed up 2003 performance results of regional enterprises and formulated the tasks for 2004. A. M. Roitblat, Deputy General Director of «UTK» PJSC — director of the branch «Electrosvyaz» of Stavropol Territory«took part in the debates. He noted, that the branch representing «UTK» PJSC in the Stavropol Territory played the leading part among the regional telecom operators. Last year the company transferred over 224 million roubles to regional and local budgets as taxes, a 50 million-increase over 2002. In 2003 its capital expenditures doubled as compared to 2002 exceeding 952 million roubles. In 2003 the branch generated total revenue of 2242.1 million roubles making 131,8 % on the year 2002. Level of its telephone network digitization reached 50,2 %. A powerful data network with carrying capacity of 622 Mbit /sec was created. Great attention was paid to installation of telephones for veterans of Great Patriotic War. All veterans in Stavropol are provided now with telephone communication. New telecom services are being actively developed now, their share in total revenues from sales has made up 3,6 %, versus 2,8 % in 2002. «UTK» PJSC branch — «Electrosvyaz» of Stavropol Territory» is to play the leading part in realization of the target program on development of rural telephone network in 2004—2010 developed by the government of the Stavropol Territory.
