| The Ministry of Communications and Informatization of Russian Federation has issued a license to OAO Uralsvyazinform for rendering mobile services within 900 MHz and 1800 MHz frequency ranges in Sverdlovsk region. The license was registered in the Uniform Register for Telecommunications on December 30, 2003. In compliance with the license the company is to start providing mobile services before June 30, 2005. The validity period is till 30.12.2013.
Thereby the company is now able to provide mobile services standard GSM 900/1800 on the whole territory of its activity. In Perm (including Komi-Perm autonomous district) and Sverdlovsk regions - using its own license. In Tyumen region (including Khanty-Mansyiski-Yugra) and Yamalo-Nenetski autonomous districts mobile services standard GSM 900/1800 are rendered by subsidiary company (Uralsvyazinform's stake - 90%) ZAO Ermak-RMS. In Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions operates 100 % subsidiary OOO South-Urals Cellular Phone.
As of 01.03.2004 mobile GSM subscriber base totals over 1,2 mln. subscribers.
The company plans to start providing mobile services in Ekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk region before 2004 year-end.
In the nearest future the company has scheduled consolidating its mobile business under one brand.
