Aeroflot and CAE introduced ?320 full flight simulator

Today the ceremony of introducing ?320 full flight simulator (FFS A320) produced by the Canadian Company CAE (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) took place in Simulator Department of Pilots’ Training Center of Aeroflot-Russian Airlines (RTS: AFLT). The simulator was delivered by the Canadian Company CAE within the 8-year contract. The contract is concluded within the trilateral cooperation of Airbus Corporation, Aeroflot and ???.

Taking into account the simulator certification according to D level made by the Comission of the European Civil Aviation Sevice (JAA), ?319/320 crews of Aeroflot and other airline companies will start training on the simulator in February.

Representatives of three companies – Gennagy Prikhodchenko, Aeroflot PTC Director, Walter Visser, ??? Vice President, and Luc Bourgogne, Airbus Vice President on Air Crew Training, took part in the ceremony.

“?320 simulator launching plays the key role in providing safety and efficient training of Aeroflot air crew,” said Gennagy Prikhodchenko. “We are pleased to cooperate with the leaders in this sphere – ??? ? Airbus; this brings us to the airline company technological modernization.”

“Using CAE methods and technologies on the Russian market is an important step for us,” stressed Mr. Visser. “We hope to cooperate long with Aeroflot and Airbus in order to support the regional aviation sector.”

Main users of FFS A320 new simulator equipped with Tropos™ visual system developed by CAE and set in ??? AFLT Simulator Department are to be Aeroflot pilots trained on planes of ?319/320/321 types. Pilots of other companies can also train on the simulator on the contract basis. As it has already been announced Aeroflot will get 18 new ?319/320/321 planes according to air fleet restructuring.

Aeroflot makes flights to 108 points of 48 countries of the world. 15,000 people are engaged in the Company, including 2,500 pilots. The State has 51 per cent of Aeroflot stocks. Net income amounted to 89 million dollars in 2002.
