Gazprom used reserved capacities to deliver gas to Kaliningrad region and Lithuania

Due to the stopped Russian gas transit via Belarus, Gazprom resorted to reserved capacities to provide gas to the Kaliningrad Region and Lithuania.

For this purpose, on February 19, 2004, at 1:20 pm local time, Gazprom started delivering gas from Latvia to Lithuania via the Riga – Panevezhis gas pipeline. Current gas volumes supplied to Lithuania average 230 thousand cubic meters per hour.

The amount of gas deliveries to the Kaliningrad Region through Latvia and Lithuania accounts for 30 thousand cubic meters per hour. Due to the measures taken, power supplies to local consumers and socially important facilities will remain at standard levels.

Reference:

Before stopping gas transit through Belarus, Gazprom piped some 400 thousand cubic meters per hour via the Republic to Lithuania and the Kaliningrad Region.
