Competition of the best specialists of "UTK" PJSC operating ALCATEL 1000 S12 equipment was held under the joint initiative of the Company ‘s management and CJSC "Alcatel” (Saint Petersburg). 30 specialists from six branches of "UTK" PJSC: “Karachaevo-Cherkesskelectrosvyaz”, “Volgogradelectrosvyaz”, “Sevosetinelectrosvyaz”, “KabBalktelecom”, “Rostovelectrosvyaz”, “Electrosvyaz” of Stavropol Territory" – took part in the competition.

The competition was held in two stages. The first stage was a theoretical one, the participants had to answer 29 questions relating to use and operation of digital switching system ALCATEL 1000 S12. Each participant answered the questions in the official web - site of the competition using his own password. According to the results of Internet-questioning 10 best specialists who had given the most exhaustive answers were selected. They went to Saint Petersburg to take part in the second stage of the competition.

During the final stage the participants had to solve practical tasks: to describe and show how to carry out testing, to remove malfunctions, to check up correctness of control, monitoring and testing commands - directly at stands with the equipment. Competent jury included experts of CJSC "Alcatel": head of the Service center Vyacheslav Puschin, head of the SPb Service center Victor Minim, engineer of the SPb Service center Dmitry Tugarinov, engineer of the SPb Service center Yury Krylov.

According to the results of both the first and the second stages Sergey Truntaev, engineer of the branch “Electrosvyaz” of Stavropol Territory" won the competition and was awarded the main prize – a tour for two persons to Paris- as well as a mobile phone "Alcatel". Specialists from the branch “Volgogradelectrosvyaz” Inga Kruze and Lilia Garenko took the second and the third places respectively. They were awarded a home TV and video complex and a DVD-player as well as mobile phones. Other finalists were also awarded “Alcatel” mobile phones.

The results of the competition were summed up at the session of the Club of Alcatel users. Winners, participants and organizers of the competition were greeted by the director of telecommunications department of "UTK" PJSC Vitaly Dubchuk. He noted that the competition had once again confirmed a high level of proficiency of the Company’s specialists.

"UTK" PJSC and CJSC "Alcatel" (Saint Petersburg) expressed their willingness for cooperation by signing after-sale service contract for 2005.

At present the company "Alcatel" is the largest supplier of the digital equipment for "UTK" PJSC selling the largest number of ports amounting to 459 612 ports all over the Southern federal district. The largest number of Alcatel ports are installed in the branches “Electrosvyaz” of Stavropol Territory" (198 806 ports) and “Volgogradelectrosvyaz” (152 698 ports).
