On February 19 seminar for members of the Section of museum workers of St. Petersburg (Department of creative Union of workers of culture) passed at Museum of LOMO history. This event was timed to celebration of 90th anniversary of the first optical enterprise.

   Representatives of industrial companies of St. Petersburg such as "Ijorskie zavody", "Krasny vybordgets", "Arsenal", "Krasny oktyabr", "Obuhovsky zavod", "Kirovsky zavod", "Zvezda", Plant of brewery and non-alcoholic industry named after Stepan Razin and also workers of another organizations - Museum of Pushkin, Museum of Technological institute, Museum of militia - took part at the event.

   During the seminar participants got acquainted with expositions of Museum of LOMO history, reflecting all stages of almost 100-year history of the firm - they could look at devices, photos, historical documents. Also they had an opportunity to look at some production, which the company produces nowadays, to watch new film about LOMO and to see recently opened exhibition of presents, which LOMO has got at the day of its 90th anniversary. Besides, seminar's participants have discussed questions, concerning saving and developing of industrial museums, replenishing their funds, their reconstruction.

   Today many industrial enterprises of Russia have difficulties; museums of these companies are also in a bad condition. Short-sighted policy of organizations' top-management, inattention, insufficient financing lead to following situation - museums at several industrial giants with 100-year and more rich history are closed or are in a pitiful state.

   The purpose of such seminars is to save historical legacy of industrial enterprises - to engrave history of origin and development of Russian industry. Also one more important issue is solved during conducting of such seminars. Only a few museum workers have a special education at this sphere. Such meetings help to share experiences, to change by opinions over many questions: museum design - modern tendencies, latest technologies, exhibited methods, gathering of information, conducting of card indexes, registration, replenishing and keeping of museum's funds. Besides, history of many companies is tight interlaced and during of such meetings it's possible to know interesting facts or to find important documents concerning the history of those enterprises. Yesterday all participants of the seminar got presents from LOMO - electronic version of book "LOMO. Through the prism of time", from which they could derive many interesting facts of our joint history and replenish their exposures.

   "I liked very much Museum of LOMO history, - said Svetlana Jukhova, Chairman of the Section of museum workers, - most of all a great quantity of exhibits has impressed me, big quantity of documents, photos, good and comfortable design of stands. LOMO keeps memory about people, created unique devices, memory about their destinies. It's very pleasant for me to get acquainted with traditions of LOMO, to feel its spirit, because all of us are heard about this remarkable enterprise. I'm very glad that top-management of the firm meets museum workers half-way, treats to company history attentively and makes all possible that museum can develop".
