On January 27, 2004 Arkadyi Vladimirtsev, Director of the “Russian Register” Certification Association, has handed over to Sergey Kogoghin, Director General of KAMAZ Inc., a series of certificates confirming that Quality Management System of KAMAZ Inc. meets MC ISO-9001-2000 and National Standard R ISO-9001-2001.

“Certification of KAMAZ Inc. in accordance with the International Standards is very important for Russian’s OEMs. I am sure this will bring the Company many benefits and opportunities and help it to advance to a more favorable market position. There are all the provisions needed for KAMAZ to be competitive and successful. The third in a row victory this year at the prestigious “Telefoica-Dakar” rally-raid makes all KAMAZ employees proud of their company, and it will be challenging for them to work towards improving quality of mass produced vehicles to compete at overseas markets too. Thanks to sports trucks KAMAZ brand is now well known in many countries, and KAMAZ-4911 is generally recognized as one of the best sport trucks in the world thus confirming that Russian trucks can be and should be the best. KAMAZ has got Standards for conducting its business more efficiently”, said Mr. Vladimirtsev.

It is the new upgraded version of the Standard. Having obtained IQ-Net Certificates KAMAZ Inc. can now exercise its right to obtain also National Certificates of those countries, which are the members of the United Certification Services, without any additional quality assessment procedures.

As per Sergey Kogoghin: “The Certificates granted to KAMAZ have proved that we can work well. But it is not possible nowadays to do without ISO-9001 and without compliance to International Standards. Introduction of this new System is to be followed by introduction of a new production strategy approach. Quality Management System is subject to ongoing improvements, which in turn will be advancing quality of our products. Quite obvious that it is not possible to manage quality of such a sophisticated product as our truck if it is not backed by a system. The Company will try to take advantage from the introduction of QMS and is committing itself to its further developing ”.
