Names of new PRISCO tankers

Primorsk Shipping Corporation has taken a decision to give the following names to the tankers, which will be built in the nearest years: «Governor Pharkhutdinov», «Pavel Chernysh», «Captain Kostichev», «Viktor Titov». The tanker of 108,000 tons dwt, which is now being built at Brodosplit Shipyard, Croatia will get its name in honour of Igor Pavlovich Pharkhutdinov, Governor of Sakhalinskaya Oblast who tragically died in August. So PRISCO Board of Directors and Management Board decided to mark out contribution of this outstanding person into development of Sakhalin and Russian Far East economics. Tanker «Governor Pharkhutdinov» will be launched next year in May. As it is known tanker «Sakhalin Island» is being built at the same Shipyard, its acceptance is expected to be in March, 2004. After putting into operations the both vessels will be used for transportation of Sakhalin oil. Three more PRISCO tankers of 100,000 tons dwt will get their names in honour of the best employees of the Primorsk Shipping Corporation whose life was fully devoted to sea and development of the Company. Tanker «Pavel Chernysh» of 100,000 tons dwt will get its name in honour of Pavel Konstantinovich Chernysh, former Director of the Primorsk Shipping Corporation. Under his management the Company began to develop export routes and strengthened its positions as monopolistic carrier of liquid bulked cargoes in the Russian Far East. This vessel will be built at Shipyard in Ulsan (South Korea). Two more Aframaxes will be built here, they will have names of Valentin Dmitrievich Kostichev, the best master of Russian Fleet of 70th - 80th and Viktor Philippovich Titov, one of the first PRISCO Superintendent Engineers who took part in establishment and development of the Company. Their attitude to business, endless devotion to the profession, personal characteristics have been good example for PRISCO employees. «Pavel Chernysh», «Captain Kostichev» and «Viktor Titov» will be launched from South Korea Shipyard at the end of 2005 - beginning of 2006.
