MOSENERGO (TGC-3)

November 22, 2004

MOSENERGO launches a new pumping station

On November 24, Mosenergo will launch Businovo Pumping station. The new station of the Heating Grids will supply heat to North and East-North Administrative Districts.

According to Mosenergo’s calculations, in 2005, the northern districts of Moscow will consume considerably more heat due to expanded residential construction. The new pumping station will help to increase the capacity of Businovo pipeline that supplies heat to this district. The maximal capacity of Businovo pumping station is 7 400 m3 of hot water per hour. In addition, the station will make it possible to protect consumers from pressure surges.

Businovo pump station will operate in the automatic mode. It is equipped with modern equipment that helps to increase the reliability of heat supply to consumers. There is a double protection system that neutralizes hydraulic blows resulting from pressure surges in the system. Many parts of the equipment have been purchased from foreign suppliers including Allen-Bradley, Klinger, Auma, etc. This equipment is highly reliable and has a long operation life.

In addition, Businovo station will require less maintenance compared to older stations. Its pumps are equipped with new rollings that can operate at 70 °C without additional cooling. These modifications help save electric power and area in the pump section of the station. The spare space is used to install protection equipment.

The construction of Businovo heating line started in 2003. As of today, 1.3 km (one-third) has been put into operation. After the launch of the line, the station will deliver heat from CHP-21 to northern Moscow districts (Aeroport, Voikovsky, Koptevo, Savelovo, etc.).

New pumping stations and heating trunk lines are needed to meet the heat consumption growth in Moscow. Today Mosenergo is building two more stations. In 2005, Moscoenergo expects to launch Filevskaya NPS, and in 2006—Yasenevskaya NPS. In addition, the company is building two more heating pipelines—Businovo and Ostashkovo.
