Gazprom’s delegation starts business trip to Far East Federal District

Gazprom’s delegation started today its business trip to the Far East Federal District.

Gazprom’s experts took part in a meeting of the RF Regional Authorities’ Coordinating Council under the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far East Federal District. The meeting addressed the regional oil and gas sector development.

At the same time, Gazprom’s representatives held working meetings with Vladimir Slivko, Energy Minister of the Khabarovsk Area as well as top management of the Daltransgaz, Khabarovskenergo, Khabarovskkraigaz and Rosneft – Sakhalinmorneftegaz companies. The meetings debated the construction of the 1st line of the Sakhalin – Komsomolsk – Khabarovsk gas main, preparation of fuel and power facilities for operation over the autumn-winter heating season and implementation of a program on gas supplies to the Khabarovsk Area.

In addition, Gazprom’s delegation will make a trip along the Sakhalin – Komsomolsk – Khabarovsk gas pipeline route for the purpose of getting familiar with its infrastructure technical condition and construction.

Reference:

Russia’s Energy Strategy to 2020 sets the challenge of establishing and developing a new large gas production province in Eastern Siberia and the Far East. Under the Russian Federation Government’s Directive dated 16 July 2002, Gazprom was appointed as coordinator in implementing the East Siberian and Far Eastern gas reserve development Program, establishing a gas supply network in eastern Russia and providing an integrated gas export channel to Asia-Pacific.

Designed to annually supply the Khabarovsk Area’s consumers with 4.5 bcm of gas going from the Sakhalin Island fields, the 1st line of the Sakhalin – Komsomolsk – Khabarovsk gas pipeline comprises the Okha-Komsomolsk gas pipeline, Oktyabrskoye-Khabarovsk gas pipeline being under construction, 2 compressor stations, gas branches and distribution stations.

Further development of said gas transmission network towards the city of Vladivostok will serve as the initial phase of setting up an integrated gas production and transmission network in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, expected to strongly bolster the whole eastern Russia’s economic expansion.
