Moscow. 9 November 2004. Tomorrow, 10 November, the Sixth General Meeting of the EU-Russian Industrialists' Round Table will open in the Hague, the Netherlands. The meeting will be co-chaired by Anatoly Chubais, Chairman of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia", and Jukka Harmala, CEO of Stora Enso.
The Roundtable will be attended by 250 participants form major European and Russian companies, and officials from the EU and the Russian Government, including Russia's Minister of Industry and Energy Victor Khristenko, European Commissioner-designate for Enlargement Olli Rehn, as well as by representatives of international organizations and industrial associations.
The Round Table agenda includes important issues of cooperation between Russian and EU businesses in the process of formation of a common economic environment of Russian and the EU. To address these issues, a special discussion forum will be organized, which will be attended by Russian and EU business and political leaders.
During the forum, special sessions and meetings will be held in the Task Forces for energy, transports, building industry, information and communications technology, for some branches of industry, finance and investments, and science and research cooperation.

* The EU-Russia Industrialists' Round Table is a permanent international forum for Russian and EU businesspeople. The Round Table creation was endorsed by the EU-Russia Summit in July 1997. The Round Table officially acts under the auspices of the European Commission and the Russian Government.
Meetings of the Round Table consider new trends in the economic policies of Russia and the EU and their bilateral relations, discuss practical questions of research in the areas of industry, investment, and research, and present their recommendations to the authorities in the Russian Federation and the EU on these matters. The Forum's final documents—Joint Conclusions, which include recommendations of the Task Forces—are submitted to the authorities of Russia and the EU so that account can be taken of the business community's opinions.
