On 22nd and 23rd October OJSC North-West Telecom and the Department of Economics and Management of the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications are holding a workshop, “Electronic Business Teleeducation”, in the framework of the 4th International Exhibition Forum Infocommunications of Russia – the 21st century (InfoCom-2004).

The key idea of InfoCom-2004 is to show the existing promising varieties of services and to present the results of the “Electronic Russia” federal targeted programme for the years 2003-2004.  The possibility of education through the Internet is a vivid example of how the “Electronic Russia” programme works.

The “Electronic Business” teleeducation courses have been prepared for senior schoolchildren and students of secondary specialized and vocational educational institutions on the basis of the curriculum for higher school training in the special field 060827 “Electronic Business”. Each course includes both a theoretical part and a laboratory practical training, which will help study the operation of companies in all areas of electronic business and acquire the basic skills of independent work in business.     

At the workshop, which will be held at the stand of OJSC North-West Telecom, teachers of the University will present 3 courses: 

• Electronic Business Technologies;
• Web-Design;
• Electronic Currency and Stock Exchange Markets.

OJSC North-West Telecom invites representatives of the managements of the city’s educational institutions and students to attend the “Electronic Business” teleeducation workshops. The events will be held on 22nd October for administrations of educational institutions at 12.00 and for students on 23rd October at 11.00 at the stand of OJSC North-West Telecom at the following address: 7, ul. Pochtamtskaya, St. Petersburg, Popov Central Museum of Communications. Free admission.
