On the results of the working meeting between Alexey Miller and Valentina Matvienko

A working meeting between the Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Alexey Miller and Valentina Matvienko, the St.-Petersburg governor, took place today in St-Petersburg.

The Parties discussed the progress in implementation of the Agreement on cooperation between Gazprom and the Government of St.-Petersburg for the period up to 2008 and the Treaty on cooperation in 2004.

One of the key topics of the discussion was reconstruction of the heat and power facilities of St.-Petersburg. In particular, the Parties talked on the progress in reconstruction of the heat and power sector of the Petrograd region. It was noted that the project of reconstruction of two regional blocks was completed in 2004.

In addition, the progress in St.-Petersburg and its suburbs gas supply system development was discussed. The total Volume of investments in the heat and power facilities and the gas supply system development in St.-Petersburg will amount to over RR 1 billion in 2005.

The agreement on cooperation between Gazprom and the Government of St.-Petersburg for the five-year period and the Treaty on cooperation in 2004 were signed on 25 December 2003.

Gazprom delivered over 10.6 bcm of natural gas (101.6% of the planned volume) to St.-Petersburg last year. Gas deliveries in the current year are planned to be at approximately the same level.

The level of payments for gas supply to the customers in St.-Petersburg amounts to 97.6% in 2004. As of 1 September 2004, the debt for the gas volume delivered previously amounts to RR 522.9 mln.

The level of St.-Petersburg (with the suburbs) gas supply system development is approximately 65% (52.7% as average in Russia). In accordance with the Program for the RF regions gas supply system development Gazprom invested over RR 120 mln in the gas supply infrastructure development in St.-Petersburg. Gazprom is intended to invest as much as RR 187 mln for the same purpose in the current year. Construction of over 40 km of the branch pipelines will be funded from the total amount of the investments.
