The Chamber of Patent Disputes of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trade Marks has registered the trade marks "GAZPROM" and "" as generally accepted in the territory of the Russian Federation.

The registration secures the right of OAO Gazprom on unlimited use of the said trade marks for production of any goods and rendering any services included in the International Classification.

In order to prepare the materials on general acceptance of the trade marks "GAZPROM" and "" for submission to the Chamber of Patent Disputes, the Sociology Department of the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University arranged an interrogation of the RF natural gas consumers separately among the legal and natural persons. The results of the interrogation of the natural persons showed that "GAZPROM" trade mark is known to 81.6% of gas consumers in the Russian Federation and the "" trade mark is known to 65.6% of the consumers. The said trade marks are familiar to 91.8% and 83% of the legal persons - gas consumers, correspondingly.

By the present time just 28 trade marks are acknowledged as generally accepted in the Russian Federation, including "Coca-Cola", "ËÓÊÎÉË", "Óðàëìàø", the brands of the Yerevan Brandy Company, "ÌÈÃ", "Lipton", "Intel".
