Kinel-Cherkassky District was the best in electric power losses control in Samara Distribution Grids

The progress of work of power distribution zones (PDZ) aimed to reduce losses in 2017 was summarized in Samara Distribution Grids, which is a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a part of Rosseti Group).

Samara DG experts are providing for comprehensive arrangements aimed at loss reduction. Such arrangements include scheduled inspections of transformer substations, taking control readings of metering devices, raids to identify off-the-meter power consumption with no agreements concluded. In 2017, the best result in the loss control was achieved by the electricians of Kinel-Cherkassky PDZ of Volzhsky production department.

The total amount of the identified “stolen” electric power has made over 287,000 kWh, which is more than 860,000 rubles. Such amount of electric power would have been enough for one month power supply of about 1,000 private residential houses.

All in all, 514 cases of electric power theft was detected in 2017 in the branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC – Samara Distribution Grids. In total, the dishonest consumers have stolen over 4.9 mln kWh, which in money terms is more than 15 million rubles.

Daily control of grid losses is one of the priority areas of the branch’s activities and the essential item in implementation of energy efficient policy. Such work has resulted in increase of productive electrical power supply and, as an effect, an opportunity to apply extra resources to the construction, technical re-equipment and repair of the power facilities.
