Moscow City Telephone

September 15, 2004

The FRS of the Russian Federation approved new MGTS telephone fees

The Federal Rates Service of the Russian Federation approved the new subscriber fees charged by Moscow City Telephone Network (MGTS).

Starting October 1, private individuals and state entities will be paying RUR 170 instead of RUR 140, private companies will be charged RUR 200 instead of RUR 165.

"Raising the subscriber fees for Moscow private subscribers has not made this service break-even for MGTS," - said MGTS deputy general director Victor Chervony.

According to him, the costs that remained uncovered are compensated by cross subsidizing by the revenues generated by the private companies.

Last time the fees were raised on August 1, 2003.

All MGTS base services fees, including subscriber fees, are regulated and established by the state.
