On July 28, 2004, in the City of Odintsovo Moscow region, CenterTelecom General Director R.A. Amaryan solemnly awarded the commemorative certificate of the 6-millionth subscriber to the WW2 labor veteran Irina Stepanovna Monashenkova. The Minister of Economics of Moscow region government Vyacheslav Krymov, the Member of the Council of Federation Nikolai Pozhitkov, State Duma deputy Yury Lipatov, the head of Odintsovo region Alexandr Gladyshev, First Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for information technologies and communications Boris Antonyuk, Svyazinvest General Director Valery Yashin, CenterTelecom Deputy General Director – Moscow branch director Nikolai Mezhuev, the Head of Odintsovo Telecommunications Node Vladimir Kovalev and other officials participated in the event.

It is symbolical that the event took place at Odintsovo Telecommunications of Moscow branch, the biggest and most rapidly developing branch of CenterTelecom interregional company. An entirely new telecom infrastructure has been created here: a modern broadband digital multiservice network access node has been installed. This is an important resource for telecommunications development in Moscow region: this year just in Odintsovo 6 thousand new subscribers will appear through the use of the new code, 498. In Q1 the number of main lines in CenterTelecom grew by 141 756, a 110.1% y-o-y growth.

The award ceremony was preceded by a presentation of the latest telecommunication services capabilities. Videoconferencing sessions were held with Ruza orphan asylum, which was donated computer equipment by the Company as well as with the Gubernskii TV channel studio at Staraya square.

Irina Stepanovna was solemnly awarded the certificate, a new phone, and beautiful flowers. A lot of good words were said about this simple woman who had gone through a lot of sufferings.
