The awarding ceremony of JSC GAZ in the name of RusavtoGAZ Ltd. took place on July 23, 2004 in Moscow. For high results in foreign trade activity in 2003 RusavtoGAZ Ltd. was called the best exporter of automotive industry by Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation.

Mr. Alexey Kaulbars, Director of Foreign Trade Government Regulation Department, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, presented Mr. Alexander Livadchenko, Deputy General Director of JSC GAZ, General Director of RusavtoGAZ with award "Best Exporter" and honorary diploma "For outstanding contribution to expansion of foreign trade contacts of the Russian Federation, development of domestic manufacture and export and professional culture".

In 2003, due to competent work of its specialists, RusavtoGAZ Ltd. increased export sales and was ahead of the business plan rates, the company extended its dealership network in CIS and distant foreign countries, increased efficiency and created the prerequisites for further expansion into the foreign market.

In 2004, 39,130 GAZ vehicles of the whole model range were sold abroad.
GAZ vehicles are exported to 35 countries of the world. At present, the most successful trade relations are established with the countries of the South-East, Middle East, Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe and CIS. Over the last year a huge amount of work targeted at vehicles export expansion was done by JSC GAZ specialists. GAZ plans to sell vehicles with diesel engines meeting the requirements of Euro-3 environmental safety to Eastern Europe countries like Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Macedonia, Bulgaria.

The organizers of the above contest appreciated the variety of the products exported, as JSC GAZ is the sole manufacturer in Russia producing trucks, cars and special-purpose vehicles of that wide range. This covers serially manufactured vehicles: GAZelle, Sobol, Sadko, Volga as well as their various export versions - right-hand drive vehicles, 4x4 vehicles, vehicles designed for tropical use.
Along with these vehicles JSC GAZ also offers: multi-purpose Tiger vehicles, track-type vehicles, vans, tippers, communal type vehicles of different purposes. Vehicles are packaged individually for every country considering its specific local conditions and requirements. The majority of the vehicles produced will be presented in "Motor Show (MIMS) 2004" in Moscow.

In 2004 JSC GAZ plans to sell 50,000 vehicles to foreign markets.

The contest "Best Russian Exporter" is organized by Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation with the purpose of increasing competitiveness of domestic industrial products in world markets, stimulating Russian manufacturers for extending international contacts and development of new segments of foreign markets.

This year, candidates representing different industries were evaluated according to three nominations:
  - Best Exporter of the Industry (20 industries);
  - Russian Exporter with most dynamic development power;
  - Best Russian Exporter to CIS countries.
