A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Gazprom’s Management Committee Chairman and Vladimir Potanin, President of the Interros Holding Company took place today at Gazprom’s Headquarters.

The parties debated potential development of the Kovyktinskoye gas condensate field.

Alexey Miller underscored the need to develop the Kovyktinskoye field together with other fields of Eastern Siberia and the Far East. A. Miller noted that a comprehensive approach to exploiting natural resources of the region will allow for the most reasonable field development timings and methods to be identified based on the existing and forecasted domestic gas needs, development rates of the United Gas Transmission System in eastern Russia and prospects of gas deliveries to Asia Pacific through an integrated export channel.

The Kovyktinskoye gas condensate field is situated in the Irkutsk region, 450 km north-east off the city of Irkutsk.

The natural gas reserves of the field are valued at 1.9 tcm.

The license to develop the Kovyktinskoye field is being held by the RUSIA Petroleum company, with the TNK-BP Holding Company (62.42%), the Interros Holding Company (25.82%) and the State Property Management Committee of the Irkutsk region being its main shareholders.
