Military-field microscope

LOMO PLC has designed new military-medical luminescent microscope MLP-01 in accordance with the order of the Main military-medical authority of the Defence ministry of the Russian Federation.
The device is intended for express-test of especially dangerous infections. Just for this purpose it is made as a luminescent microscope. In ordinary microscope of transmitted light the process of preparing of material for research can occupy more than one week, but new microscope MLP-01 requires for it maximum a half an hour.
MLP-01 distinguishes by the row of essential improvements from its predecessors MLD-1 and MLD-2, which were created at LOMO before and have found broad application in domestic Armed Forces. A lot of junctions of the device are principally new. Great  (up to 1500 times) magnification and high light-gathering ability of the objective allow researching the smallest objects in detail.
The peculiarity of the microscope is that it must work practically on the "open air".  That's why MLP-01 distinguishes by high level of reliability and simplicity. New instrument of LOMO endures changes of temperature from -50 till  50 degrees, and also shaking, which is impossible to avoid during conveyances of the device by the Russian roads. The microscope has systems of fixing of the image in analogous or digital format for work in laboratory conditions.
Today the whole kit of construction documentation is ready and creating of trial samples will be the next stage. It's planned to test these samples by the end of 2004.
