February 8, 2011

Energy consumption in the Moscow Region keeps within the average winter norm

According to the information provided by the Central Dispatch Administration of JSC “MOESK”, the last week’s maximum of electricity consumption was fixed on 1 February at 5:00 p.m. and equaled 15,536 MW at the air temperature of -6 degrees.
In 2009, electricity consumption on the level of 17.266 GW was fixed at the maximum of temperature of minus 28 degrees. In 2010, the maximum of 17.166 GW was fixed on 2 December at the temperature of minus 22 degrees.
Despite the adverse weather conditions – heavy snowfalls - the distribution electric grid complex of the capital and the Moscow Area worked steadily; no failures in supply of electricity to industrial and socially significant objects were admitted. An increase in electricity consumption is expected in the Moscow Region at the end of the week due to a predicted fall in temperature.
