For the year – from June 2003 to June 2004 – Aeroflot transported 266,000 passengers on the route Moscow-Kaliningrad-Moscow; it made 1,261 flights. Passenger seats’ occupation average rate amounted to 83%; in summer the percentage of enplaned traffic for economy class tickets achieved its maximum level 100%. The share of passengers carried from Kaliningrad to Moscow by social fares amounted to 80% of the total volume.

Beginning from the second half of 2003 Aeroflot share in passenger carriages on the route Kaliningrad-Moscow increased up to 63%, and during five months – up to 67%. In the total volume of home carriages from Khrabrovo Airport Aeroflot share is 52% today.

Implementing the social project of flights on the route Moscow-Kaliningrad-Moscow (four flights a day) Aeroflot offers reasonable fares for all demographic categories of Kaliningrad region not exceeding railway fares. At the same time better service is provided for business passengers according to business class standard; high frequency of flights makes the schedule more convenient for business trips.

In the framework of this project Aeroflot actively cooperates with Kaliningrad region Administration.

From June 30, 2003, Aeroflot-Russian Airlines makes four daily flights from Moscow to Kaliningrad within the program of social carriages at low fares; this provides constitutional right of all Kaliningrad citizens for freedom of movement within their country under visa restrictions of Lithuania authorities introduced from July 1, 2003.
