OJSC Southern Telecommunications Company remains committed to its tradition in 2002 - continual growth of the volume of telecom services, expanded range of telecom services.
According to the 2002 budget, which has been submitted for approval to the Board of Directors of the Company, there are plans to generate Rub 3.2 bn from primary activities, which represents a 30% growth over 2001.
The Company's statistical reports for January 2002 show that the planned growth in tariff revenue was correct.
During the reporting month a total of Rub 213.2 mn in revenues was provided to all categories of telecom consumers, which represents a 32.2% rise year on year. In addition, gross revenue stood at Rub 225.9 mn, which is Rub 57 mn more than the previous year, or up 33.7%.
The Company has also experienced success in the development of its telecom facilities. Growth in the number of main telephone units was 2,217,000, while the process of converting line broadcasting into air broadcasting was successfully completed at 20 villages (1,262 radio broadcasting sites).
