Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee announced the appointment of Burckhard Bergmannas his International Affairs Advisor today at the Press Conference summarizing the Company's Shareholders Meeting.

Burckhard Bergmann had been Member of the Gazprom Board of Directors for 11 years.

Background

Burckhard Bergmann was born on February 11, 1943 in Sendenhorst (Germany).

He studied Physics at Freiburg and Aachen Universities and was awarded a doctorate in engineering by Aachen University of Technology.

From 1980 to 1996 – Member of the Management Board, Ruhrgas AG. Between 1996 and 2001 he was Vice Chairman of the Management Board of Ruhrgas AG. From 2001 to 2008 – Chairman of the Management Board of Ruhrgas AG (since July 1, 2004 – E.ON Ruhrgas AG). From 2003 to 2008 – Member of the Management Board, E.ON AG.

Between 2000 and 2011 he served as Member of the Board of Directors, Gazprom.

In June 2011 Burckhard Bergmann was rewarded with the Russian Order of Friendship.
