In 2003, the Company’s gas processing division (GPD) increased gas processing by 36% to 3.8 bcm.
The output amounted to: residue gas – 3.5 bcm, 35% up from 2002; broad fraction of light hydrocarbons – 330.3 thousand tons, a 50% growth; stable gas naphtha and distillate – 96.5 thousand tons, a 48% growth; propane – 7 thousand tons, a 49% growth.
Boost in gas processing and output was primarily due to an additional gas pipeline located at the area surrounding Fedorovskoye oilfield. The company had availed itself of the pipeline and subsequently increased gas supply for further processing, put into operation another group of compression facilities at the GPD in the second quarter of 2003, and reached the design capacity utilization.
A brisk trade in broad fraction of light hydrocarbons and a strong demand for stable gas naphtha, distillate, propane let the Company buy without limitations gas from third parties, which had also increased gas supply for further processing in 2003, as compared with 2002.
For industrial safety reasons, higher industrial efficiency and more extensive expert knowledge, the GPD has launched large scale modernization of facilities.
