Moscow, 14 March 2005. RAO "UES of Russia" has established the Central Flood Control Commission (CFCC). The Commission is headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Yakov Urinson.
According to Russia's hydro meteorological centre, Roshydromet, in January 2005 most regions of Russia suffered from abnormally high temperatures which caused rapid melting of snow, increased stream flows and significant raise of the water level at some rivers, lakes and water reservoirs of hydro power plants.
The CFCC's mission is to ensure safe and reliable operation of RAO UES entities during the spring flood this year.
The Commission is also supposed to ensure interaction with subdivisions of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia designed to achieve that goal.
