Artyomovskaya HPP provides with the heat energy (heat and hot water) common and industrial consumers of the town of Artyomovsky.

After conversion of the boiler to gas both powermen and consumers will get undoubted advantages. Powermen will manage to reduce vitally the costs for storing, preparation and transportation of fuel (gas is supplied from the gas flue that is situated in immediate proximity to the territory of HPP) and released money must be given to repairing works. Consumers will get additional guarantees of reliable and regular energy supply (that is particularly actual before frosts) and ecological purity. One more advantage is that the unit has an additional source of energy besides coal and its available heat power grew for 15%.

Due to modern technical decisions, automation of operating processes expenses in the work of the electric power station will be distinctly reduced, its ecological, technical and economic rates will improve.

In 2005 boiler No.3 was transferred from solid fuel to oil fuel. Now generating powers are regularly distributed among each other according to the kinds of fuel: the electric power station can work on gas or coal. It makes possible the quick transfer from one kind of fuel to the other. During the period of maximal low temperatures it guarantees regular work at big heat loads and vice-versa in summer they can be minimal. The consumption of gas for work of the boiler house will not exceed stated limits.

In future the whole enterprise will be retooled for the opportunity of using gas.

In the start took part Deputy Minister of power engineering, Yuri Petrovich Shevelev, representatives of administration of Artyomovsky. Start and successive work of equipment besides specialists of HPP was watched by the Head of technical direction of TGC-9 in Sverdlovsk region Leonid Solovyev, specialists of thermotechnical service.

The project of transfer of Artyomovskaya HPP to gas started to be implemented three years ago. For it it was necessary to conduct the complete reconstruction of the present equipment. After negotiations with gas specialists and the decision of the principal possibility of the project, they started modernization of the boiler house. They have built a gas regulatory center (GRC), reequiped the boiler, they have completely automated the control systems. Specialists note that for today the equipment of the boiler of HPP is the most modern equipment among the branches of TGC-9 (generating powers and network enterprises on the territory of Perm and Sverdlovsk regions and in Komi Republic).
