According to the results of 9 months of the current year the effect from the realization of the additional activities directed to the decrease of the costs of the company accounted for RUR 162.4 million

Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation is going tot develop and approve the program of the productivity increase and the optimization of the costs in the electric power for the future. According to the message of the agency, “in future we plan to approve for the subjects of the natural monopolies the order of the regulated competitive procedures, taking into consideration the peculiarities of their work, implement the practice of the bench marking, which points out the best practices among the power companies as well as develop and approve the program of the productivity increase and the cost optimization in the electric power”

Commenting on information distributed by the press-service of the Ministry of Power, Yaroslav Eshchenko, Head of the Business Planning Department of the Economy of IDGC of North-West said that it is necessary to note that during the making up of the business plan for 2009 the Company carried out the considerable work directed to the decrease of costs. In accordance with the realized Program of the costs management the costs of the Company for 2009 during the forming of the business-plan were decreased by RUR 1,002 million in relation to the declared necessity of the branches.”

 “Together with this, during the forming of the business-plans of the branches for 2009 they used the principle of exclusion of the growth of the “under-control costs” relating to 2008. As a result, the general amount of the decrease of the “under-control costs” accounted for RUR 178.7 million or 3.5% to 2008 which is the considerable index for the enterprise of the distribution grid complex for which the presence of “conventionally-constant” costs is peculiar,” mentioned Yaroslav Yeshchenko. 

According to the results of 9 months of the current year the effect form the additional activities directed to the decrease of costs in IDGC of North-West accounted for RUR 162.4 million. Among the carried out additional activities  - the optimization of the raw materials use and the materials for the operation (including oil and lubricant materials), the transition of the implementation of the contractor works from the contractor way to the industrial one, decrease of the traveling and the representative costs, and the optimization of the management costs.” 

According to the source, the Ministry of Power plans to develop the subsystem of the costs management in future as well as the enterprises of the natural monopolies sphere and use the given practice on the constant basis “The programs of the power companies productivity increase as well as the decrease of costs allow the decrease of the tariffs growth rates of the natural monopolies as well as give the additional investment resources to the power companies”, the press-service quotates the words of Setrgey Shmatko, Ministry of Power. In conditions of the financial and economic crises  the increase of the productivity of the natural monopolies subjects activity shall be the anti-inflation factor and render the healing effect to the economy of the country in general”, he says.
