“Pskovenergo” will invest RUR 427 million into the complex technical re-equipping of the object.

“Pskovenergo” branch of IDGC of North-West completed the first stage of one of the most large-scale projects of “Pskovenergo” investment program – the reconstruction of 110/10/6 kV “Pskov” substation No. 53.

Within the framework of the first stage, the power engineers substituted the equipment of five cells of 110 kV overhead lines in the open distribution device (ODD) of 100 kV, carried out the substitution of disconnectors, 110 kV autotransformer circuit breakers and reconstructed the earthing ring.

In the building of the general substation unit (GSU) they equipped the new room of the relay hall, installed new storage battery, as well as the own needs and direct-current boards.

During the modernization, all new connections were equipped with microprocessor devises of relay protection and the emergency control automatics as the substitution of the outdated power mechanical ones, systems of control and management, telecechanics and high frequency connection possessing the built-in selection. All this will help to increase the productivity and correctness of the activities of the dispatch and technological personnel due to the use of the more perfect methods and the mechanisms of information presentation.

During the reconstruction, the special attention is paid to the improvement of the power security system at the substation. They carry out the organizational and technical activities which may help to prevent both the direct and the indirect touching of the current transmitting networks.

Let us mention that the works aimed to re-equip the substation began in 2008. The reconstruction of the substation will become the most large scale investment project of “Pskovenergo” for the past years. Its completion is planned before the end of 2011. All in all, “Pskovenergo” will invest nearby RUR 427 million into the complex technical re-equipping. 

Substation No.53 of 110/10/6 kV has been in operation for more than 40 years. It is a system-creating element of the electric grids of “Pskovenergo” and source of power supply of the considerable part of Pskov consumers.
