TGC-9

October 23, 2006

On October 20th the first press conference of General Director of TGC-9 Andrey Makarov and Deputy of technical policy Vladimir Busorgin took place

Having introduced themselves to journalists, company officials expressed their willingness to answer the questions that interest mass media.

Representatives of mass media were interested in the attitude of General Director to the reforming of the branch and to the acknowledgement of Sverdlovsk region as an energy scarce region, affiliation of the company to the OSM, problem of probable limitations of gas, realization of investment projects on the territory of the region, etc.

Appraising reforming of power industry, Andrey Makarov said that in his opinion advantages of reforms are, first of all, in the fact that powermen have a clear idea of mechanisms of financing of the branch, terms of construction of new powers and public agents and citizens understand the necessity of changes. “We do not only have an opportunity of construction of new power stations. Between different generating companies competition for realization of investment projects began”, - added Vladimir Busorgin.

Answering the question about possible limitations in the gas supply, the Head of TGC-9 stressed that the development of powers of the company must be fulfilled at the expense of other kinds of fuel. In Sverdlovsk region it is coal. “Our company has an important project – one of the priority-driven ones: construction of two blocks of 300 megawatt and reconstruction of Nizhne-Turinskaya HPP (the city of Nizhnyaya Tura), increase of its heat power on the coal from Ekibastus”.

At the end of the meeting Andrey Makarov and Vladimir Busorgin assured the journalists that powermen will do their best so that consumers won’t feel negative influence of low autumn-winter temperatures. Taking into consideration experience and professional skills of Ural powermen, there are reasons to hope that work of all branches of TGC-9 in Sverdlovsk region will be reliable and trouble-free.
