Gazprom’s Headquarters has hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Uichiro Niwa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Itochu Corporation.
The parties pondered on the outlook of further cooperation between the two firms, focusing, in particular, on interaction within the Program on setting up an integrated gas production, transmission and supply network in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other countries of Asia Pacific. A focus of the meeting fell on potential implementation of projects on value-added processing of feedstock from Eastern Siberia.
At the same time, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in LNG production, transmission and marketing projects.
Joint studies of energy saving and environmental protection projects were identified as a promising direction of collaboration.
In addition, the meeting reviewed the possibility of supplying pipes for the construction of the offshore section of the North-European gas pipeline.
