IDGC North-West provides a set of measures aimed at reducing of losses. In 2010, the total effect amounted to 39.618 million kWh, or 0.09% of supply to the network.

The effect of implementation of measures aimed at reducing of non-technical losses was 21.356 million kWh. This reduction was achieved by carrying out activities to identify consumption without account. . Reducing of technical losses through the implementation of the arrangements was 13.089 million kWh and technical measures 4.942 million kWh.
During 2010, specialists of IDGC Northwest had inspected 505.03 thousand complexes of electric energy account. As a result of inspections were identified and corrected violations, which helped to reduce losses at 21.352 million kWh and revealed unaccounted consumption for 32.621 million kWh.

In order to organize work on a more detailed analysis of the causes of increased losses, their localization and elimination, IDGC North-West conducted the operations on the equipment of additional points of technical accounting. In 2010 it was established, replaced or repaired more than 1.562 thousand accounting points.
