Starting from 1st February 2007, Alexey Vladimirovich Nikitin, who was the manager of the Development Planning Unit of the Development Planning and Capital Construction Department of the St. Petersburg branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom, has been appointed the Director of the Engineering Development Department of OJSC North-West Telecom.
In 2000 Alexey Vladimirovich graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrument-Making and started his activities in the communication industry as an engineer of the Data Transmission Centre at the St. Petersburg Telephone Network branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom. In 2002 he moved to the position of an engineer in CJSC Peterstar. In August 2004 he continued his activities in the St. Petersburg branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom as Deputy Manager of the Main Long-distance International Telephone and Telegraph Centre (GMMTTU).
In 2003 he completed a post-graduate course, acquiring the degree of the candidate of technical sciences.
For the period of his work for OJSC N.W.Telecom A.V.Nikitin took part in implementing such projects as: organizing the interregional corporate network of the Northwestern branch of the Savings Bank of Russia; development of the engineering concept of providing the services of broadband access to the Internet under the Avangard brand; engineering support of the Programme for the Provision of Telecommunication Services to Residents of St. Petersburg for the years 2005 –2007; introducing the service of interactive television Avangard TV, etc.
In 2006 he was announced the winner of the corporate competition "There is an Idea", having presented a proposal "A Model of a Service Web Portal", a services management system making it possible to activate various services online, issuing controlling commands to multiservice network equipment.
