The Gazprom Headquarters today has hosted a meeting of the Central Commission for Subsurface Use and Licensing Management. The meeting was moderated by Alexander Ananenkov, Acting Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.

The participants addressed issues in relation to the expediency of obtaining the right to explore and develop a number of blocks in the Orenburg Oblast and Krasnoyarsk Krai.

Gazprom’s actions aimed at establishing its resource base in the Krasnoyarsk Krai are a crucial stage within the implementation of the Program on setting up an integrated gas production, transmission and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking account of potential gas exports to China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The Program identifies the Krasnoyarsk Krai as one of the four prominent gas production centres.

The expediency of obtaining licenses for the Orenburg Oblast is explained by a need to boost the loading of production capacities at one of Russia’s largest Orenburg Gas Chemicals Complex.
