On 15th July 2008 OJSC North-West Telecom connected the thousandth subscriber of the Avangard TV interactive television services in St. Petersburg. OJSC N.W. Telecom was the first in the North-West to put IP TV interactive services into commercial operation in St. Petersburg in December 2007. This has become a significant event in the broadband access services market and an undisputed advantage of OJSC N.W.Telecom who has made a unique package offer to its subscribers – the Triple Play package, through which users can get telephone connection , Internet and television services via one channel.

In April 2008 the Avangard TV service was put into commercial operation in Veliky Novgorod, too ( see the Press Release of 15.04.2008 ). Company's plans for 2009 provide for starting the provision of the service in another several branches.

The Company is presenting Avangard TV as an additional service for the subscribers of the Internet broadband access service under the Avangard brand. OJSC N.W. Telecom's clients use the digital television service and access to such interactive services as video on demand, network videotape recorder, TV program archives and other services via the already available copper pair.

An extensive library of films of various genres is available to all users of Avangard TV through the video on demand service . At the moment there are more than 100 of them, their number constantly growing. The content available to users of the Avangard TV service is legal and provided in digital quality.

The price of connection to the Avangard TV service is 1500 roubles, however, during the summer action "Connect Avangard TV and save 1499 roubles!" held from 1st June till 31st August 2008 subscribers of the St. Petersburg branch of OJSC N.W. Telecom may have the Avangard TV service connected for 1 rouble ( see the Press Release of the St. Petersburg branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom of 04.06.08 ).

Avangard TV is a package of interactive multimedia services provided via a high-speed channel.

The subscribers who have been connected to Avangard TV get access to the following services:

- viewing various TV channels in the digital format;

- Video on Demand (VOD) – an opportunity of choosing a film or a program from the film library for personal viewing with payment to order;

- Network Videotape Recorder – an opportunity of ordering a record of current and future TV program s with subsequent viewing at a convenient time*;

- Start Over – an opportunity of viewing from the very start a program that is already on air, even if it started long ago*;

- TV Program Archives - viewing program s that have already been shown*.

Subscribers are provided with an opportunity of subscribing for the following packages of TV channels:

- Premiere – a package including leading channels of the world such as Discovery, CNN, Hallmark, as well as new informative channels Hunting and Fishing, Homestead, Mother and Child and other (35 channels);
