According to Alexei Pogezhev, the manufacturing director of Severstal, in July the company exceeded June's output for major types of products. It produced 359.0 thousand tons of coke, 709.6 thousand tons of sinter; 675.5 thousand tons of cast iron, and 898.1 thousand tons of steel. As compared with June, output of rolled steel increased by over 13 thousand tons up to 821.1 thousand tons. The output of finished products for the seven months of 2003 totaled 104.8%.

Alexey Pogozhev said, "Gradual increases in output result from efforts, aimed at decreasing expenditures, such as coefficients of materials consumption at all steps of the technology chain".

Additionally, Severstal exceeded May record figure for steel shipments through own port by 20 thousand ton: shipments by water reached 356.8 thousand tons.
