Board of Directors considers information regarding procurement structure in Gazprom

The Gazprom Headquarters keeps hosting the Board of Directors’ meeting.

The Board of Directors took notice of the information regarding the procurement structure in Gazprom, the measures taken by the Company to increase the share of purchases from domestic producers and entrusted the Management Committee with continuing the work in this direction.

Background:

In July 2004 the Company’s Board of Directors endorsed the Provision on preferentially contest-based awards of contracts for the supply of goods, completion of works and rendering of services for Gazprom and its subsidiaries. As a result, by 2008 Gazprom’s subsidiary companies and organizations placed over 80 per cent of procurement orders through contest-based awards of contracts.

In December 2008 the Provision was amended in order to support domestic producers, in particular, through introducing preferences for contest-based awards of contracts.

Additionally, Gazprom has taken a set of measures aimed at increasing the purchases of domestically produced goods through implementing the Program for assisting Russian companies in mastering new kinds of products with the application of innovative technologies. The Program provides for regular joint activities involving companies of various industries so as to deliberate on the issues of procurement, production process adjustment to the needs of the gas industry and advanced technologies attraction.

In 2008 the share of domestic goods and products supplied to Gazprom exceeded 88 per cent.
