Moscow, 4 May 2006. RAO "UES of Russia" will select additional independent agents to arrange and conduct auctions to sell assets of RAO "UES of Russia", its subsidiaries an dependent companies.*

Pre-qualification bids will be accepted between May 2, 2006 and May 30, 2006 from agents that have a strong financial position, experience in conducting auctions, are licensed to engage in broker-dealer activities as professional securities market participants, and hold a liability insurance for at least RUB5 million.

As a result of the pre-qualification process, the Services Procurement Commission at RAO "UES of Russia" will select 15 agents from among the top 15 entities ranked in terms of their merits.

It is expected that after the pre-qualification process is completed, RAO "UES of Russia" will have 51 independent agents accredited by RAO "UES of Russia" to arrange and conduct auctions to dispose of property and securities.
