On 25th April 2006 the fifth jubilee RadioMania 2006 national prize awarding ceremony took place in the Russia state concert hall. In this year, laureates have been selected in 14 nominations corresponding to the areas within the terms of reference of the Ministry for Information Technologies and Communications of Russia and of the Ministry's enterprises.

Vladimir Alexandrovich Akulich, CEO of OJSC North-West Telecom, became the laureate in the "Best Worker of the Industry" nomination.

The prize instituted by the Ministry for Information Technologies and Communications of Russia jointly with the All-Russian public organization of mass media workers Media Union helps to position radio as a modern and dynamically developing industry, as a national industry, and to improve the professional standard of radio workers of both creative and technical specialities.

As A.V. Beskorovayny, head of the Federal Agency of Communications, noted in his welcoming speech, RadioMania has become a good tradition and a professional festival in the true sense of the word. According to him, the "level of competition and quality of work of the industry's workers are improving with each passing year.  And this has a beneficial effect on the development of the domestic radio as a whole."
