On April 5, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin held at Valdai (Novgorod Region) the meeting on measures to improve forecasting of natural hazards. Regional representatives attended the meeting in the mode of video conferencing. Governor of the Pskov region Andrew Turchak, deputy head of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Pskov region, Oleg Chernov, Director of « Pskovenergo” Alexander Timofeev and the representatives of the responsible services and departments took part in the meeting.

On the electric power facilities in the zone of responsibility of  “Pskovenergo " the complex of anti-flood measures is provided from early March . In order to prevent the negative effects of spring floods was created the commission to coordinate the operation in case of flood and to provide the prompt assistance in case of emergencies. It was headed by deputy director of the branch - Chief Engineer Konstantin Mikhailov.

The Commission is responsible for the cooperation with regional and local executive authorities, commissions for emergency situations and for implementation of ongoing monitoring of hydrological conditions.

In the first days of April, due to increase of average daily temperatures began active snow melting. In case of necessity, specialists of "Pskovenergo" make pumping water from underground cable channels of transformer substations.
