Today, the Gazprom Headquarters has hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Yury Boiko, Fuel and Energy Minister of Ukraine.

The parties discussed the issues relevant to gas supply and balance in 2007 as well as the issues of Russian gas transit via the territory of Ukraine to European consumers.

Alexey Miller and Yury Boiko paid special attention to a list of issues on restarting gas supply via the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas main. The parties expressed common opinion that due to coordination work of both parties in the accident, the gas supply obligations for European consumers were entirely fulfilled. At the same time the parties specified the need to significantly increase the reliability for the transit gas transmission system of Ukraine taking into account the unique role of the country for Russian gas transmission to Europe.
