During the first six months of 2004, oil production in OJSC “Surgutneftegas” reached 28,862.6 thousand tons, against 26,133.8 thousand tons produced during 1H2003. Thus, oil production grew 10%.

Gas production amounted to 7,198.4 mn cubic meters (6,901.0 mn cubic meters produced over the same period of 2003). The increase totaled to 4.3%. The Company processed 2,075.3 mn cubic meters of gas.

The Company drilled 1,502.5 thousand meters of rock. This figure includes 124.9 thousand meters of exploratory drilling (122.5 thousand meters during 1H2003).

The Company commissioned 445 new wells.

The data provided are not inclusive of the operating results at the Talakan field. Under the corresponding operator’s agreement, oil is produced at Talakan by OJSC “Lenaneftegas”, whereas OJSC “Surgutneftegas” owns a production licence for the field.
