A meeting devoted to summarizing of the autumn-winter period in 2008-2009 years and setting of the goals to prepare for the autumn-winter period in 2009-2010 years took place in “Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Volga”, Joint Stock Company . Vladimir Ryabikin, General Director of  IDGC of Volga, JSC noted that the autumn-winter period successfully gone. 1076 measures were planned and fulfilled in the set time to provide the uninterrupted operation of the company branches. As the result the number of equipment disconnections and time to eliminate the emergency situation has reduced. The biggest number of accidents (over 65%) took place with the equipment with the operating life over 25 years. The branches of  IDGC of Volga, JSC will fulfill the essential part of the repair work to prepare for the future autumn-winter period in 2009-2010 years. Vladmir Ryabikin pointed out the significant meaning of the increase of professional skills of the technical staff, its training and fulfillment of the labor protection measures. It is 27,3 percent more than in 2007 year. 175 million 216 thousand rubles were spent to provide employees with the protection facilities, instruments and devices. Vladimir Kucherenko, Deputy Director General on technical issues - chief engineer in his report paid attention to the number of the ice melts during the autumn-winter period (AWP) in 2008-2009 years. During the last autumn-winter period the number of ice melts increased for 12 percent in comparison with the previous year. This is the result of the changes of weather and climatic conditions in Orenburg, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions. It is evident that in case this tendency continued the building and operation requirements should be amended.

For the purpose to prepare for the future autumn-winter period,  IDGC of Volga, JSC along with the repair works, plans to fulfill the package of measures of the staff training to prepare it to the work during the cold period, continue its equipment with the special closes and protection facilities, develop the plan of the ice melt and conduct the trial melt, fulfill the works planned in the investment program.
